This paper aims to clarify the effects of age on attentional performance and explore the development trends of focused, sustained, selective, alternating, and divided attention among primary school students in Taiwan. "The Attention Test for Primary School Student" was employed to assess and compare the performance of 1213 primary school students in each dimension of attention. Results showed that primary school students' attentional performance significantly varies by age; development of alternating attention is characterized by the shortest incubation period and significantly improves year by year; development of focused, selective, and divided attention requires a longer incubation period every other year and also exhibits a regular growth tendency; the trend in development of sustained attention may not be confirmed without further observation over a longer period of time. The results of this paper can help clarify the development process of each dimension of attention.
