本研究目的為瞭解某長期照護機構中慢性精神病患的艾倫認知功能階層分佈概況,藉以推估其職業復健潛能。 本研究為一橫斷性之研究設計。採簡單隨機抽樣某長期照護機構慢性精神病患131人為評估對象。研究工具以艾倫認知測驗為主體,評量病患的認知功能階層。 研究參與者的艾倫認知階層分布為:階層3.0以下(不含3.0)4人、階層3.0-3.8為48人、階層4.0-4.8為40人、階層5.0-5.8為39人;艾倫認知階層較高的病患有較多的比例參加復健治療;而男性的研究參與者、以及低教育程度為認知功能的危險因子。 本研究呈現長期照護機構中慢性精神病患的艾倫認知階層分佈情形,並瞭解可能影響其認知功能的危險因子。此研究結果有助於醫療照護人員設定符合個案需求的治療目標及提供適切的服務。

Objective: The purpose of this study was to explore the Allen cognitive level in persons with chronic psychiatric disorders in a long-term care facility. Methods: The research design was cross-sectional design. This study used simple random sampling to include 131 adults with chronic psychiatric disorders who live in the long-term care facility. The Allen Cognitive Level Screen 2000 (ACLS) was used to assess cognitive ability of the participants. Results: The results of this study revealed that the distribution of Allen cognitive level in persons with chronic psychiatric disorders was described as follow. 4 people were below level 3.0 (not include level 3.0). 48 people were level 3.0-3.8.40 people were level 4.0-4.8.39 people were level 5.0-5.8. There were more proportion of participants with the higher of the Allen cognitive levels participated the rehabilitation. The male participants or participants with lower education level were the risk factors of the cognitive function. Conclusion: This study revealed the distribution of the Allen cognitive level in persons with chronic psychiatric disorders, and found the factors that may impact the cognitive function. Findings of the study may provide health professionals with useful information to set the goals that fit the clients' needs and to provide better intervention to achieve optimal functioning in persons with chronic psychiatric disorders.
